BigQuery itself offers BigQuery ML, allowing users to create and run various machine learning models using standard Google SQL queries, supporting capabilities like forecasting, classification, clustering, embeddings, and vector search directly within the data warehouse.
For transactional workloads and globally consistent data, we integrate Cloud Spanner, providing scalable, strongly consistent relational storage that feeds directly into analytical pipelines. Spanner also offers integration with Vertex AI, enabling the invocation of ML models hosted on Vertex AI directly via SQL for predictions and text embeddings, and supports vector search. When these capabilities are paired with the broader Vertex AI property, this architecture doesn’t just support reporting — it enables live model updates, embedded agents, and decision systems that respond interactively.
